In pursuit of visiting as many countries as possible in a lifetime plus love for the Caribbean waters, travel took us to a country called Dominican Republic particularly to its resort town called Punta Cana. Punta Cana is just like any other beach town , and has no local flavor of this country except for the flavorful coffee which Dominican Republic is famous for.
The highlight of this trip was our first experience to an all inclusive resort. All inclusive in Asia is not so common with maximum being Full-Board where only 3 meals are included , and people might confuse All-Inclusive with Full-Board.
All-Inclusive is more of an American thing, where literally everything is included. The meals, snacks, unlimited drinks, cocktails, room service food, everything is included in your room rate. After racking our brains trying to understand their costing structure, the only thing made sense was the volume at which tourist visit and maybe their low cost of operations.

It was a 3 hour flight from Miami, and a great sunny weather greeted us for the next 3 days of our stay. We chose the Level Hotel by Melia for its good reviews and a reasonable price. The property was around 20-30 minutes drive from the airport, and its quite easy to hire a taxi from the airport to your respective resort. The cab drivers accept US dollars, just like many other Caribbean countries.
Even saying huge wouldn’t suffice for explaining the size of the property. You needed to call golf carts to ferry you around the resort. Just to give an idea, it took around 20-30 minutes to walk from the lobby to the beach.
They had swimming pools in different parts of the resort for the convenience of their spread out guests. They also had 6-7 different types of restaurants catering different cuisines, letting you order anything from their a la carte menu, which is all included in your package.
They had various activities going around for kids & adults to participate in. And if you are in Caribbean, its the sea which would never disappoint you. The Level had an amazing stretch of beach with hundreds of sun beds, to ensure availability for all.

But the best was their VIP service area, which you can book for 40-50$ a day, where you get a cabana right at the beach with unobstructed view of the sea with continuous butler service. The butler would continuously fill up your drinks, get you tidbits for munching, cold towels, etc.
It was a shame, we only got it do on our last day because we did not make prior bookings. Our whole day schedule was the to go for breakfast, and stay by the beach for the full day on sun beds reading books, talking, listening music, eating, dipping in pool and sea, walking on the soft beach, and then returning only in the evening to our rooms.

The rooms were old construction but spacious with required amenities. The Level hotel felt like a small town, and we never felt like leaving the resort even for a day as everyday was a new experience in terms of dining & activities.
But it was the Caribbean sea, and convenience of not worrying at all about dining, which made this trip worthwhile & of course the daily dose of the Dominican Republic coffee enhancing our day.
